We're going to the zoo, zoo, zoo... How 'bout you, you, you?

My cousin Katie Beth is home from France for two weeks. Hailey and I were able to go with her to the zoo Friday afternoon. We had a great afternoon. We were able to see all the animals. We even saw the giraffes (Hailey and I normally skip them because they are so far out of the way). Here are a few pictures from the day:

Easter

It has been a LONG time since our last post! I am not going to try to play catch up (although Hailey did turn 3!!), but just start at Easter.

This Easter we had a wonderful time with friends and family. The day starting by going to church. Our friend Ben and his mom joined us at church. After church we ran home and gave Hailey a short nap. We then hurried out to my grandparents house in Donelson for a late lunch and an Easter egg hunt! Hailey and my brother Clayton were the only two "hunters" and they ended up with an insane amount of eggs. After the Egg Hunt we got in several good group shots. Happy Easter!

Christmas

We had a wonderful Christmas seeing family and friends!! It is always so fun to watch Hailey open presents. Last year, she had the most fun unwrapping the gifts, but could care less what was inside. This year, however, she enjoyed seeing what was inside the wrapping. I loved watching her face light up when she really liked it. So cute! On Christmas Day, Mike's dad and brother came over for lunch and to open presents. After that, we went went over to his mom's house and did more presents there. We stayed at his mom's until Hailey's bed time. Then we brought her home and went to bed. The next morning Hailey woke up and came into our room to wake us up (as usual). We then tried to get her excited about going to see what Santa had brought. Well.... she wasn't excited to said, "I don't want Santa. I have enough toys already." Mike and I both were speechless. What almost three year old doesn't want Santa to bring toys?!?! Anyway, once we got into the living room she was excited about all the presents from Santa!! Mike's dad came back over for the morning, and then around lunch time we went to my parents house. We then came back home and let Hailey take a nap before heading to my grandparents house for my family's Christmas. We had a great Christmas at my grandparent's house with family and got home a little after Hailey's bedtime. The Saturday after Christmas we went to Lafayette, TN to visit Mike's grandmother. We had a wonderful visit with her too!

ASHA Convention- Chicago

Every year the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association has a convention. Each year MTSU Communication Disoders students have the option of going. This year the convention was in Chicago, IL. About 20 students in my major made the trip to Chicago. We flew out of Nashville Wednesday night and came back Sunday night. We had a great time while we were in Chicago. We stayed in the Palmer House Hilton Hotel, and my room was upgraded to an executive suite, complete with TWO bathrooms, and a nice sitting area (Our room was twice as large as the regular rooms). We also were given complimentary breakfast, unlimited drinks, complimentary appetizers, cookies, brownies and milk. It was wonderful. Well, anyway, the convention was 3 days and we went in the mornings and, for the most part, we had the afternoons/evenings to enjoy the city. While we didn't get to see all of Chicago, we had a great time, and I am really glad I went!

Halloween

This year for Halloween Hailey wanted to be a Pumpkin. My mom and I made her pumpkin costume! She had a lot of fun trick or treating although every house she went to she made a point to say, "I don't like chocolate." Poor girl. Maybe someday she will learn what's good for her :)
